Each one of these soap dish have been handcrafted from a solid piece of wood and then sanded to a smooth finish and then finished with a coat of Danish Oil to add a further level of protection.

This soap dish has been handcrafted from a solid piece of teak wood called iroko. This wood comes from sustainable forestry. Teak iroko is an excellent wood for use as a soap dish as it has a natural resistance to water and rot decay due to the natural oils present in the wood.

Water is allowed to drain from the soap dish by wide grooves which have been carefully cut into the wood on the top and the bottom to form lots of drainage holes.  The soap dishes have been designed to allow water to drain freely away allowing your soap to dry better and last longer.
  • Handmade in West Cork
  • Sustainably sourced and foraged timber
  • Sealed with Danish Oil
  • Wide grooves for drainage

For every dish sold a donation is made to the registered charity One Tree Planted to plant a tree and help off set our carbon footprint.

Since wood is a natural material each dish will have its own unique colour and grain pattern.

We love that all Wild Atlantic Wood soap dishes are made by hand in West Cork by woodworker Richard using timber that's both FSC and PEFC certified. Richard also uses locally sourced wood from Cork and along the Wild Atlantic Coast, like fallen branches and trees that have died from natural causes.  All our deliveries from Richard come wrapped in newspaper and this makes us very happy.
