This is the bar that won gold at the European Free From Skincare Awards. It's made with mild, coconut-derived cleansers rather than soap, which is why it suits coloured hair and works well in hard water. Pair it with the TLC Conditioner Bar for the full routine.

How to use

Rub the bar directly onto warm wet hair, working from scalp to ends to build a good lather. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed. Let the bar dry out between uses; a soap rest helps it last. If it gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly, and stop using it if irritation occurs. Patch test before first use.

Why We Love This Brand

Palm Free Irish Soap is a family business in Tuamgraney, Co. Clare, near the Shannon. Tony and Kathy Hoynes run it with their daughters Jade and Sorcha. Kathy made her first soaps back in 1996, and the family still make every bar by hand in small batches. As the name says, nothing they make contains palm oil or its derivatives, and it all comes wrapped in paper or card, never plastic. Their TLC shampoo bar won gold at the European Free From Skincare Awards, and they're a Guaranteed Irish member.
