Dagda was the Celtic god of the earth, a figure of immense power, a perfect name for this Balancing Shampoo Bar for combination hair and sensitive scalps, made with baobab oil, French green clay and spirulina. It won a Free From Skincare Award in 2024.
Baobab oil, a powerful oil packed with omega 3 fatty acids as well as vitamin A, D and E, seeps deep down into the hair follicle and helps to trigger hair growth, as well as leaving hair moisturised yet not greasy. Together with Lemongrass and Eucalyptus which give a fresh scent, it is a good bar for moisture control, as they leave hair shiny but helps to reduce the production of excess oil.

Janni Bar's "Baby foam" shampoo bars, are made with Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI - known as "baby foam") as a base, an all natural ingredient derived only from coconut. SCI's low PH level means baby foam bars are more stable than cold-pressed shampoo bars, so they react the same regardless of the hardness of your water, they lather well, and give a thorough clean. These bars leave your hair flowing, shiny, and healthy with no transition period.

How to use: Wet your hair and the bar. Slide the bar from root to tip in a combing motion, cover each section of your hair. Put the bar down and spread the lather around, it will foam! Rinse and follow up with Janni Bars conditioner if needed.
About the Maker
Janni Bars is Janni Sjöstrand, originally from Sweden and now based in Drumlish, County Longford. It began with a simple search for a truly natural, plastic-free shampoo bar for horses. She couldn't find one, so she made it herself, and the range grew from there, still in minimal, plastic-free packaging. Janni believes natural doesn't have to mean boring, so you'll find flowers, clays and colour in her bars.
