About the Maker
From a converted mushroom factory in rural County Down, FieldDay’s founder Alix and her team are inspired to capture and bottle the scents of the Irish countryside. These are fragrance ingredients commonly used in candles and perfumes. 2,4-Dimethyl-3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (often called Triplal) smells green and leafy, like crushed leaves or lily of the valley. 3-(O & P-ethylphenyl)-2,2-dimethylpropionaldehyde is a perfumery aldehyde that adds a fresh, floral-green lift and helps the scent project. 4-tert-Butylcyclohexyl acetate gives a soft floral, slightly woody muguet-style note and smooths the blend. Acetyl cedrene brings warm cedar and amber woodiness and helps the fragrance last. Alpha-pinene occurs naturally in pine needles, rosemary and eucalyptus and gives a fresh, pine-like aroma. L-limonene and limonene come from citrus peel and add bright, zesty citrus top notes. L-menthanone (menthone) is a minty component found in peppermint and spearmint that gives a cool, refreshing lift.
