Most conventional toilet cleaners rely on bleach and strong synthetic perfumes to do the job. They work, but they also fill the bathroom with fumes and send a fair bit of nastiness down the drain. Lilly's takes a different approach, using tea tree oil and vinegar to do the heavy lifting without any of that.
Tea tree is a long-trusted natural disinfectant, and the acidity in the vinegar is what makes light work of limescale rings and water staining. Together they handle the everyday job of keeping a toilet hygienic, fresh and free of build-up. The cap is a small detail that matters more than you'd think, the angled jet lets you direct the cleaner right under the rim, which is where most of the staining and bacteria hide.
It's a small Irish-friendly choice that adds up over time. The bottle is recyclable, the formula is septic tank safe, and you're not putting anything down the loo that you'd be uncomfortable handling.
Pair it with Lilly's Eco Clean Multi Surface Cleaner for a properly stocked bathroom kit that keeps fumes out and the planet happy.
How to Use
Squirt the cleaner around the inside of the bowl and under the rim using the angle-jet cap. Leave it to sit for a few minutes if you want a deeper clean, or get straight in with the brush. Brush around the bowl and flush. The tea tree and vinegar will continue doing their thing as they're rinsed away, both effective sanitisers and both completely safe for your septic tank.
Ingredients
<5% anionic surfactants*, non-ionic surfactants*, amphoteric surfactants*, vinegar (acetic acid), Tea Tree essential oil, Sodium Benzoate (preservative). *derived from coconut, wheat & sugar compounds.
What These Do
- Anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants are the cleaning agents that lift grime and dirt off the porcelain. Lilly's versions are derived from coconut, wheat and sugar rather than petrochemicals, so they break down cleanly in the water system
- Vinegar (acetic acid) is the limescale fighter, the natural acidity dissolves the calcium deposits that build up under the rim and around the waterline
- Tea Tree essential oil is the natural disinfectant and the source of that clean, fresh scent, no synthetic fragrance involved
- Sodium Benzoate is a mild preservative that stops the formula spoiling on the shelf, widely used in food and natural cosmetics
Safety
Causes serious eye irritation. Keep out of reach of children. If in eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. If irritation persists, seek medical advice and have the bottle or label to hand.
