These little terracotta ollas take the faff out of watering your smaller houseplants. Pop them into the soil, fill them with water, and let the natural porosity of the ceramic do the rest. The water seeps out gradually, right at the roots, keeping your plants steadily hydrated without any guesswork.
- Set of 3 mini ollas, sized for pots up to 15cm diameter
- Made from microporous ceramic with a natural cork stopper
- Handcrafted in Portugal by skilled artisans
- Typically only needs refilling once a week
- No electricity, no plastic, no waste
- Works with all green houseplants
Each olla in this trio is made from unglazed terracotta, using a watering method that dates back to antiquity. The porous walls let water pass through slowly, so your plant draws moisture as it needs it. No more overwatering, no more dried-out soil. Just steady, natural hydration.
The set comes in a neat branded box, making it a lovely gift for any plant lover. And because they are handmade, each one has its own subtle variations in texture and finish, so no two sets are exactly alike.
How to Use
- Find a spot in the soil near your plant and press the olla into the ground, pointy end down. Leave the top (with the cork) sticking out above the soil.
- Remove the cork and fill the olla with water.
- Replace the cork to slow evaporation.
- When the olla is empty, simply refill it. Most plants will need a top-up roughly once a week, though this can vary with the season and the plant.
Materials
- Body: microporous terracotta ceramic
- Stopper: natural cork
What These Do
- Microporous terracotta ceramic: The unglazed clay has tiny pores that allow water to seep through gradually. This mimics natural ground moisture and delivers water directly to the root zone.
- Natural cork: Sits snugly in the top of the olla to reduce evaporation and keep out debris, while still letting you easily refill.
