Enamelware has been a kitchen staple for generations because it's tough and easy to look after, and it looks the part on the table. The three sizes cover most jobs, from a small crumble for two to a family-sized lasagne.

The large dish, at 27.6 x 20.6cm, takes a shepherd's pie or a lasagne for the family. The medium one suits a fruit crumble or a gratin, and the small dish is handy for a pudding for two, a side of roasted vegetables or reheating leftovers.

Enamel is a glassy coating fused onto steel, so it has a smooth surface that is easy to wipe clean and doesn't hold on to smells or flavours. Treat the dishes kindly and they'll last for years, but a hard knock or a drop onto a tiled floor can chip the enamel.

How to use

Wash before first use. Oven safe up to, but not exceeding, 220°C. Do not use on a hob or stove top. Always use oven gloves when handling hot dishes, and let them cool before cleaning.

Care: hand wash only, not dishwasher safe. Don't soak for long periods, avoid abrasive cleaners and scourers, and dry thoroughly before storing.

Rex London started in 1981 as a market stall on Portobello Road, where founders Rob and Eri sold things they had found on their travels in Asia.
