It smells like the kitchen on Christmas Eve, with a fresh green note from the pine that stops the spice getting heavy. Light the candle in the evenings and leave the diffuser in the hall to greet people as they come in.

Like everything The Handmade Soap Company makes, the set is vegan, cruelty free and made without parabens or SLS. It comes boxed and ready to give.

How to use

Candle: trim the wick to about 0.5cm before each burn. On the first burn, let the melted wax reach the edge of the glass so it doesn't tunnel. Burn for no more than 2 hours at a time, and let the wax set again before you relight it.
Diffuser: remove the cork and put the reeds in the bottle. After a few minutes, take them out and turn them over so the soaked ends are at the top. Turn them more often for a stronger scent, or use fewer reeds for a lighter one. Keep it away from direct sun and heat, which make the oil evaporate faster.

About the Maker

The Handmade Soap Company is run by husband and wife Donagh and Gemma Quigley from a restored mill in Slane, Co. Meath. They started in 2010 with two pots and a soap mould, and they still make and fill everything themselves. They're a certified B Corp, and Lemongrass & Cedarwood is the scent most people know them for.
