If you are tired of lukewarm second cups or replacing cracked glass carafes, this is the French press upgrade that actually sticks. Aarke have rebuilt the classic cafetiere entirely in stainless steel, with a vacuum-insulated double wall that holds heat properly. Pour your first cup, come back an hour later, and the rest is still hot.
The build quality is noticeably solid at 850g. Everything is SUS304 grade stainless steel, the same you would find in professional kitchenware, and there is nothing flimsy about it. It sits beautifully on a countertop and feels like something that will last for years, not months.
The reusable stainless steel mesh filter is one of the best things about it. No paper filters to buy, no waste to bin, just rinse the filter after each use and go again. The spout pours cleanly without dripping, which is a small detail but one you will notice every morning.
Cleaning is straightforward. Every part of the press is dishwasher safe, and the whole thing comes apart by hand without any tools. For the outside of the body, a soft damp cloth is all you need. Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool, as they can mark the finish. It also comes with a stainless steel measuring spoon so you can get your coffee-to-water ratio sorted from day one.
The packaging is recycled and FSC certified (FSC C187290), so even the box it arrives in has been thought about.
If you like a [Chemex or pour-over setup placeholder], this pairs well as a second brewing option for when you want something richer and more full-bodied.
How to Use
- Remove the plunger and add coarsely ground coffee to the press. Use the included measuring spoon as a guide (roughly one heaped spoon per cup).
- Pour hot water (just off the boil, around 92 to 96 degrees) over the grounds and fill to your desired level.
- Place the plunger on top without pressing down. Let the coffee steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Press the plunger down slowly and steadily.
- Pour and enjoy. The double-walled insulation will keep the remaining coffee hot for up to 3 hours.
Product Care
All parts are dishwasher safe. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outside of the appliance. Do not clean with abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
Materials
- Body, lid, plunger, filter, and spoon: SUS304 stainless steel
- Seal: silicone
What These Do
- SUS304 stainless steel - A high-grade, food-safe steel commonly used in professional kitchenware. Resistant to rust and corrosion, and built to handle daily use without degrading over time.
- Silicone seal - Creates an airtight fit between the plunger and the walls of the press, which keeps the grounds where they should be and gives you a clean, sediment-free cup.
