A corked glass bottle holding 150 long matches, with a Christmas tree design picked out in gold foil. It is the sort of thing that lives on the shelf beside the candles rather than in a drawer.
- 150 matches, each 100mm long, with green tips
- Strikes on the base of the bottle
- Christmas tree design with gold foil detailing
- Cork and glass, both fully recyclable
- Made in the UK, designed by J. Falkner
- Bottle measures 190 x 80 mm
Long matches earn their place at Christmas. They reach down into a jar candle without singeing your fingers, and they last long enough to light a fire without a second attempt.
The bottle is the point as much as the matches. Once the label catches the light you will find it stays out on display through December rather than going back in the cupboard.
The labels are digitally printed and die cut in Scotland, and the bottle and cork are recyclable once the matches are gone.
How to use
Pull the cork, take a match, and strike it gently on the base of the bottle. Strike away from you, over a non-combustible surface.
Materials
Glass bottle with a cork stopper and a digitally printed, die-cut label with gold foil detailing. Inside are 150 matchsticks, each 100mm long, with green tips. The striking surface is on the base of the bottle. The glass and cork are both recyclable.
Safety
These matches are made from natural products and may contain inherent structural flaws. Archivist test the matches but cannot test every one, so strike gently and away from you. Keep out of reach of children.
