A natural cedar wood block that hangs on a coat hanger in the wardrobe, scenting your clothes and helping to keep them fresh, the way our grandparents did it.
- 100% natural Atlas cedar, with nothing added
- Slips onto the hook of a coat hanger
- Scents and helps preserve clothes and linen
- Refresh the scent with a light sanding
- Made in Brittany from French cedar
Cedar has been used to scent and look after linen since ancient times. This block is untreated wood, made by a small woodworking workshop in Brittany, and comes on a recycled card with compostable wrapping.
The scent comes from the wood itself, not from added oils or perfume. It's warm, woody and quite subtle, so your clothes pick up a light fresh smell rather than a strong fragrance. That makes it a good alternative to plug-in or spray fresheners and to old-style mothballs, which many people would rather not have near their clothes.
Because it hangs from a hanger, it takes up almost no room and sits right among the clothes, where it does most good. It also works in a linen press or a hall cupboard.
You don't need to throw it away when the scent fades: once the surface has gone quiet, a quick rub with sandpaper opens up fresh wood and the scent comes back.
How to use
Hang the block on the hook of a coat hanger in your wardrobe. When the scent fades, give the surface a light sanding to expose fresh wood and bring it back. A fine sandpaper is all you need, and brush off the dust before you hang it back up.
Materials
Atlas cedar wood, steel hook.
