A chunky cardboard cylinder of 80 long matches, wrapped in nutcrackers on a bold green ground. Pop the lid off, pull a match out, strike.
- 80 matches, each 100mm long
- Natural matchsticks with red, white and green tips
- Nutcracker illustrations by Ariane Butto
- Lidded cylinder, easy to open one handed
- Made in India
The cylinders are the practical ones. They stand up next to the stove or the fireplace without falling over, the lid keeps the matches dry, and 80 long matches will see you through a good stretch of candle lighting.
Long matches reach down into a jar candle without singeing your fingers, and they burn long enough to get a fire going without a second attempt.
The nutcracker design puts it firmly in December, and the red, white and green tips are a nice touch once the lid is off.
Ariane Butto illustrates charming animals and motifs drawn from her travels, which run through several of Archivist's collections.
How to use
Pop off the lid, pull out a match, and strike. Strike gently, away from you, over a non-combustible surface.
Materials
