Inspired by Fiona's favourite preserve, Compote pairs sharp green gooseberry with soft, sweet elderflower. A fresh, fruity scent that brings a bit of early summer into the house, whatever the weather is doing outside.

Fiona hand-pours every Milis candle at home in Dunmore East, in small batches. Compote is lighter and greener than most of the range. It sits nicely in a kitchen or living room in spring and summer, and makes an easy gift for anyone who likes their scents fresh rather than sweet.

How to use
On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the jar. This usually takes two to three hours and stops the candle tunnelling. Trim the wick to about 5mm before each light and burn for no more than four hours at a time. When it's finished, wash out the jar and use it again.

Safety
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, draughts and anything that can catch fire. Stop burning when about 1cm of wax is left in the jar.
