Two plant cellulose sponges with different scrubbing sides: a green one for everyday scrubbing and a brown one, made with walnut shell, for more delicate surfaces.
- Plant cellulose sponge, made in France
- Green side for everyday scrubbing
- Brown side with walnut shell for delicate surfaces
- Scrubbing layer made from recycled plastic bottles
- Machine washable at 40°C
Having two in the pack means one for pots and pans and one for the things you don't want to scratch, like glass or the hob. The sponge part is plant cellulose and the scrubbing part is made from recycled plastic bottles.
The green sponge is the all-rounder for plates, pots, roasting tins and the sink. The brown one has ground nut shell mixed into its scrubbing layer, which makes it gentler, so it's the one to reach for on glass, ceramic hobs and bathroom fittings.
The sponges are made in a European factory certified to ISO 14001, an international standard for managing environmental impact. Using recycled bottles for the scrubbing side keeps plastic that already exists in use, rather than making new.
A sponge that can go through the wash lasts longer and stays fresher than one that has to be thrown out once it starts to smell. Two colours also make it easy to keep one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom.
How to use
Use the green side for scrubbing and the brown side for delicate surfaces. The green side can scratch, so test it on an unseen area first. Rinse after use and wash in the machine at 40°C to freshen up. At the end of its life, cut away the scrubbing layer and the cellulose part can go in the compost.
Materials
Plant cellulose sponge. Green scrubber: recycled plastic fibres and resin. Brown scrubber: recycled plastic fibres and recycled walnut shell. The cellulose is compostable, the scrubbing layer is not.
