Three stainless steel food boxes, one small, one medium and one large, that go from fridge to microwave to lunch bag.
- Stainless steel (304, 18/8) boxes with BPA-free lids
- Leak proof and airtight vacuum-sealed lid locks
- Microwave safe steel, with a few simple rules (see below)
- Oven safe boxes (without the lids), freezer and dishwasher safe
- The three sizes nest inside each other, so they take up the space of one box in the cupboard
Most steel food boxes can't go in a microwave. These can. They're designed to be heated with the lid on and the lid lock popped open, which lets the steam out, stops splatter and does away with cling film.
Use them for weekly meal prep, leftovers, freezer portions, or as lunch boxes that won't leak in your bag.
Tested and approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute. Designed in London, made in China.
How to use
Wash in warm soapy water before first use. To open, press the lid lock button and lift the lid slowly. The vacuum seal holds the lid tight until air is let back in.
Microwave: pop the lid lock open first, then heat one box at a time, up to 1000W, for no more than two minutes before stirring and heating again. Never microwave it empty, with cutlery or foil inside, or touching other metal. Not suitable for combination ovens or older 915 MHz microwaves. The steel gets hot, so use oven gloves. Tomato-based and oily foods can stain the lid.
Oven: the steel box can go in the oven without its lid.
Freezer: leave a little space at the top, as liquids expand when frozen.
Care: dishwasher safe, with the lid on the top rack. Avoid bleach, abrasive cleaners and scourers, and don't cut food in it with a knife. The seals and the grey valve lift out for a deep clean. Leave the lid lock button in place.

Why We Love This Brand
black + blum was set up in London in 1998 by designers Dan Black and Martin Blum. Everything they make is designed in their London studio to be used every day for years, not replaced, and the company is a member of 1% for the Planet, giving to charities that tackle food waste. We like them because everything is properly thought through and built to last.
