If you break into a sweat each time you have to throw out a non-recyclable, non-compostable deodorant aerosol can or roll-on (or glance at the ingredients list!) – then have we got the solution for you!
We’re excited to be stocking Wild - the world’s first compostable and refillable deodorant. Wild Deodorant is something completely unique – high quality, reusable cases, partnered with compostable refills. Zero waste, cruelty-free, 100% vegan deodorant that's free from parabens, aluminium, or sulphates - has arrived. Now that’s fresh!
What is Wild Deodorant?
Wild is on a mission to transform the throwaway culture of everyday bathroom products. The Wild Deodorant concept is simple – you purchase a super-elegant applicator case which you can use over and over again. The cases are made from durable aluminium and recycled plastic, and are available in a range of stylish colours. You couple this with fully compostable refill packs, made from biodegradable paper, which simply go into your household waste or home compost when they’re finished – guilt-free.
To use, you just apply two swipes (although we’ve found that one swipe is usually plenty) under your arms at the start of the day, or after you’ve had a shower. Each refill lasts between 4 to 6 weeks with daily use.
Why we’re wild about it
Better for you…
-
Refills are completely aluminium-free. While there’s some controversy around this, some researchers believe that the aluminium salts found in many mainstream antiperspirants may or may not increase the risk of Alzheimer’s and breast cancer. And in the US, the FDA actually requires products which contain aluminium to carry a warning for consumers with kidney disease. If you’d rather just play it safe, Wild Deodorant has you covered.
-
Free from parabens and other questionable ingredients. Commercial antiperspirants often contain parabens, phthalates, sulphates, diethanolamine and other scary ingredients like triclosan, which is technically a pesticide. We’d rather keep that away from our pits, thank you very much.
- Dermatologically tested – but not on animals. Wild is vegan and cruelty-free, but proven to be safe and effective at keeping you dry and will keep you smelling fresh all day- even on those busy days - naturally!
…better for the planet…
- Refills are entirely plastic-free and compostable.
- They’re also much smaller and lighter than buying a whole new deodorant or antiperspirant every time, lowering their carbon footprint.
- A percentage of each sale goes towards the On a Mission reforestation project.
…and better for your wallet
- Considering all the benefits of switching to a sustainable brand, we think Wild Deodorant offers exceptional value for money.
- When you buy your Wild Deodorant from Faerly, you also avoid any Post-Brexit customs import charges! We ship all our orders from Faerly HQ in Kildare in Ireland, so there’ll be no unpleasant surprises or charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
With so many perks, there have to be some downsides, right? See for yourself below.
Is Wild an antiperspirant?
No. Wild uses natural ingredients like tapioca starch to absorb moisture and avoids the unpopular aluminium salts we talked about earlier. Tapioca starch is an absorptive powder made from the roots of the cassava plant which keeps you dry without blocking your sweat glands. Another key ingredient in Wild deodorant is bicarbonate of soda which is antibacterial so prevents body odour from forming by killing off any bacteria which has rocked up under your arms, expecting things to get sweaty. This is a key part of preventing that classic body-odour smell, as it's the waste products from the bacteria that are responsible. You’ll find Wild keeps you dry and fresh-smelling all day.
Won’t I get really sweaty? Especially if I’m used to an antiperspirant deodorant?
Possibly – but only for a short while. Remember that sweating is a natural bodily function, and some people who use an antiperspirant for a long time encourage their bodies to overcompensate a bit.
While the majority of people will be able to switch over to Wild without a hitch, some may find there is a short ‘transition period’ of excess sweating when changing from an antiperspirant to a natural deodorant. The good news is it doesn’t last long (hey, our bodies are smart!) so just keep at it. In fact, several people have reported they sweat less in general after making the switch!
And if you’ve just been using standard deodorant before switching to Wild, you should be fine straight away.
How long does a refill last?
Each refill lasts about 4-6 weeks with daily use. You only need to apply 2 gentle swipes per pit – significantly less than a standard roll on! We’ve been using it ourselves for the last few months and one swipe under each arm was enough for us. It’s really smooth and glides on.
Can I use Wild Natural Deodorant if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! Wild uses ingredients like bicarbonate of soda in minimal quantities, which makes it suitable for a wide range of skin types without causing irritation. Even if you’ve had issues with bicarb before, you’ll likely have no problem with Wild, as it also contains plenty of natural moisturising ingredients to soothe the skin.
What’s Wild made from?
Wild refills contain the following ingredients:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tapioca Starch, Stearyl Alcohol, Sodium Bicarbonate, Triethyl Citrate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Cera, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Magnesium Hydroxide, Zinc Ricinoleate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Limonene, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol, Linalool, Coumarin, Benzyl Alcohol, and Citral.
As you can see, many of these are either plant-derived, minerals, or nature identical ingredients. Some of the less familiar-sounding ones we checked out ourselves.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride - a compound that combines fatty acids from natural oils, such as coconut oil, with glycerin
Magnesium Hydroxide - occurs in nature as the mineral brucite and is found in antacids, like Milk of Magnesia.
Zinc Ricinoleate - is a zinc salt of ricinoleic acid, a major fatty acid found in castor oil that’s used in deodorants as an odour absorbing agent.
Tocopheryl Acetate - is a form of Vitamin E that’s known for its antioxidant properties.
Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone - a colourless fragrance material with a powdery, woody and floral scent, very similar to violet and orris. Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone is a safe synthetic compound.
How do I apply Wild deodorant?
Simply apply one or two gentle swipes under your arms in the morning or after you’ve bathed or showered. The soft texture means Wild is immediately absorbed into the skin without rubbing, and won’t leave you feeling sticky. Personally, we’ve found one swipe is plenty as it’s a lovely soft consistency.
How do I refill my Wild Deodorant case?
Refilling is very easy. Wind the case back to the starting position, and gently pinch the sides to remove the old refill. Chuck that into the compost or general waste, where it will biodegrade. Insert the new refill and you're good to go! Watch a how to guide in the video below.
Will Wild stain my clothes?
No. Those yellow stains on clothes are usually caused by aluminium salts, which Wild does not contain.
Why is there oil staining on my refill?
Don’t worry – because the refills are made entirely of paper, a little bit of oil staining can happen.
In conclusion
We’re extremely impressed with the world’s first refillable deodorant stick! We’ve used it ourselves, and found it both very effective and easy to use.
Recyclable, refillable, 100% vegan, and with no aluminium ingredients, Wild makes being kinder to the environment a no sweat experience.
