From the heart of County Cork, this A5 Lay Flat Notebook by Badly Made Books features a fabric cover made from corn fibres and a ‘Happily Ever After’ title that is hand-embossed to reduce waste associated with printing.
Inside, you'll find 112 pages of 140gsm recycled note paper, uniquely crafted from used coffee cups through a process called Cupcycling. This innovative method carried out in the UK, reprocesses waste coffee cups into high-quality, recyclable paper, giving a second life to what would otherwise go to landfill.
The lined pages are printed using a Risograph printer, a method that consumes minimal power compared to conventional printing, and utilises inks made from by-products of rice production in a vibrant fluorescent pink.

Why we love Badly Made Books
They are rubbish……. but in a good way. Badly Made Books use papers made from recycled fibres and post consumer waste, including used coffee cups, that's given a new life in your notebook. Notepaper is printed using a risograph duplicator - a printing method that uses inks made from by-products from rice production.
They are anything but badly made! The recycled tape binding means that their notebooks lie flat allowing you to comfortably write on both sides of the page.
They believe less is more. All Badly Made Books are printed, bound and shipped from their workshop in Cork City by founder Seán O’Sullivan and his team. Seán aims to use as little ink as possible to minimise the environmental impact of printing so imagery and designs are intentionally restrained and beautifully minimalist.
